Thinking about cutting your fashion expenses?
You probably won’t be able to.
At least that’s what Vera Wang’s saying.
In a Vogue interview, Wang indicates she’s not too concerned with the global credit crunch.
“Fashion is an expendable commodity, but it also brings such joy and fantasy and fun to women’s lives. For that reason, fashion will prevail ultimately,” says the New York-based designer.
Such is her optimism, she has confirmed her label is pushing on with the scheduled opening of various new stores this year.
“This plan was made about two years ago,” she tells HERALDEXTRA.COM. “There’s no question that many people in fashion have felt the repercussions of the recession. I’m thorough about looking at the sell-through. I feel fairly optimistic that by the time they get done, hopefully the economy will be on the rebound.”
