Just when we were giving the masterminds of Dove’s ‘Real Beauty’ campaign a standing ovation for making women of all shapes and sizes feel fabulous… is reporting that “Dove’s “real beauties” may not be so real after all, at least by the account of a renowned airbrush artist.”

In a May 12 profile in The New Yorker posted online, Pascal Dangin of New York’s Box Studios is quoted as saying he extensively retouched photos used in the Campaign for Real Beauty, which, if true, could seriously undermine an effort that already has subjected Unilever to considerable consumer and activist backlash in recent months.

Flats are fine and wedges are with-it, but the key footwear trend for women this spring and summer is the high heel.

It’s not unusual to walk into department stores and boutiques and spot heels as high as 5 or 6 inches. Some say the high heel’s renewed popularity is related to the dominance of the dress in current fashion.

There seems to be a pump for every outfit and every occasion this season. There are gladiator, T-strap, and ankle-strap styles, slingbacks, peeptoes, and designs with rounded toes, architectural heels, or floral appliques.

They’re drenched in color, from neons and metallics to colorblocked and Pop Art-inspired combinations.
