Diddy and CIROC will distribute thousands of debit cards, valued up to $15, in high-traffic New York City locations.
The lucky recipients will be able to use the cards in taxicabs on New Year’s Eve, so that no matter how drunk they are, they can get home safely.
In partnership with the New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission (TLC) and E! Entertainment, CIROC and E! Entertainment are further supporting the initiative with a message from Combs currently running on taxicab televisions in New York City through January 1, 2009.
It’s a sad day in the fashion world.
The Associated Press has reported that famed French designer, Ted Lapidus, has died.
PARIS – Ted Lapidus, the fashion designer who redefined chic with the 1960s unisex look, died Monday. He was 79.
President Nicolas Sarkozy, in an homage to the designer, said Lapidus “democratized French elegance and classicism” and “made fashion accessible to men and women in the street.” Read More »

Donna Karan’s fall 2009 collection will be fur free.
And it’s because of Tim Gunn.
The make-it-work fashion expert has become the latest celebrity to lend his voice to animals by narrating PETA’s new skins video which he sent with a personal appeal to Donna Karan and Giorgio Armani.
The two designers are known for using rabbit fur in their collections.
Since Tim’s appeal, Donna Karan has indicated that she has “no plans” to use fur in the future.
No word from Mr. Armani yet.
You’ve probably heard of Sean John’s new fragrance, I Am King.
I won’t even bother to comment on the name.
However, Diddy’s camp is celebrating the scent’s new website, “where the male power players of the world can live — and smell — like a king.”
If you are a guy who happens to be reading this post, you might be interested in Combs’ interactive challenge to his fans.
Do you have what it takes to be a king?
On the site, Diddy posts a link, asking fans to upload their videos onto YouTube, explaining why they, themselves, are modern day kings. Diddy will select the top three submissions.
- business class airfare
- deluxe hotel accommodations and local transportation
- a $500 shopping spree at the Sean John flagship store
- dinner and an evening out at a NYC nightclub
The three winners will also tour the offices of Bad Boy Entertainment and receive one limited edition I Am King Lucite box.
There’s a bid to “Diddy” New Year’s Eve in New York.
Thanks to the fashion mogul’s partnership with CÎROC Ultra Premium Vodka.
Diddy and the liquor company have made an unprecedented offer to the City of New York.
They plan to donate $1 million to a charity on behalf of the city in exchange for a New Year’s Eve ball takeover.
The vodka brand wants to change the historic crystal ball to reflect its iconic blue sphere.
According to them, “The color of the sphere originates from a unique plant that grows in the Gaillac region of France , where CÎROC is still produced, and serves as a symbol of prosperity for the area even today.”
Some people say change is a wonderful thing but I’m not so sure about this one.
Let’s see if Diddy’s actually gonna get away with this one.

Today’s a great day for shopping.
And there’s one popular question on the top of many readers’ minds.
Is H&M having a sale today?
And the answer is….no.
The clothing retailer known for its deep discounts hasn’t isssued a sale announcement for today.
Their big promo holiday savings event was December 23 with 20% off H&M family and friends.
It was only a matter of time until Whitney Port was shipped off to star in her own reality series.
Look out for Whit in MTV’s new show, “The City”.
It premieres Monday, December 29 at 10p.m. ET/9p.m. Central.
- In the first two episodes airing back-to-back, Whitney leaves the “The Hills” and the familiarity of California behind to strike out on her own.
- She’ll be working at global design house Diane Von Furstenberg in New York City.
- With a best friend from her past and a guy she’s head-over-heels for, Whitney will balance a new circle of friends as she navigates the fashion industry’s upper echelon.
- Sounds kinda boring until you consider that trust issues develop as Whitney contemplates who she can trust in a city full of people with their own agendas.
If you can’t wait until December 29, head over to http://TheCity.MTV.com to browse through cast photos and bios, watch the show trailer and get the latest “City” gossip on the Remote Control blog.
