2008 American Music Awards Arrivals

Was I in love with Christina Aguilera’s red carpet look at the AMAs?

No.

And now I think I know exactly why.

It’s her stylist! (or a very poorly edited video).

Myspace followed Simone Harouche, Xtina’s glam chief, on a shopping trip where the singer’s AMAs outfit was supposed to come together.

Like I said, the stylist could be the victim of poor video editing, where stuffing everything into a 2-minute excerpt didn’t do justice to what happened in reality.

Whatever it is, Harouche simply does not come across as competent here.

Watch the vid.

A couple looks the stars are rocking on the AMAs red carpet as I write.

Christian Siriano has boldly declared that anything with beading is on trend, right now.

Just one question for you, Christian.

If it’s so hot, then why aren’t any of your pieces for The Pussycat Dolls beaded?

Just wondering…

Anyhow, folks, more pics after the jump!

Enjoy!

Maybe you’ve never heard of THISDAY, but I’m sure you’ve heard of M.A.C.

In an awesome responsible corporate citizenship move, the makeup company has teamed up with THISDAY’s Africa Rising all star-event.

Christina Aguilera and Seal will headline a star-studded line up from the world of music and fashion, including folks like Naomi Campbell, Alek Wek, Tyson Beckford, Oluchi and Liya Kebede.

The M.A.C PRO Team will be on hand to create the looks for over 70 models, including Naomi and Alek, for a mind-blowing, four catwalk shows during this special evening.

Africa Rising is designed to raise awareness for African issues by finding “sustainable solutions” rather than by simply identifying the “problems” facing the continent.

THISDAY comes off tomorrow at the Royal Albert Hall, London.

Fashion with serious latin flavor is coming to MTV Tr3s (mtvtr3s.com).

The cable channel is bringing together a mix of high fashion and music on “MTV Tr3s Fashionista.”

It premieres on August 16th at 2 PM.

Taped in front of a live studio audience, “MTV Tr3s Fashionista” is hosted by former model and actress Natalie Martinez.

The program features celebrity models like America’s Next Top Model winner Jaslene Gonzalez and Danity Kane’s Aubrey O’Day walking the runway and showcasing Fall 2008 looks from a mix of Latino and Anglo designers.

“MTV Tr3s Fashionista” also takes a look at Latino fashion icons such as Frida Kahlo, Celia Cruz, Eva Longoria, Christina Aguilera, Penelope Cruz, Shakira, Jennifer Lopez, Ricky Martin, Daddy Yankee, Enrique Iglesias, Alejandro Sanz, Wisin Y Yandel, and Juanes, and profiles up and coming Latin designers and fashion insiders.

Plus, Perez Hilton will pick his top five fashion favorites.

Should be interesting!

Christina Aguilera, Martha Stewart, Tommy Hilfiger, Donald Trump and Calvin Klein will appear in Macy’s 150th birthday campaign.

As the company gears up for a season-long celebration of its milestone, Macys revealed a first glimpse of the star power behind the celebration today.

The celebs will be featured in a series of commemorative photos shot by famed Rolling Stone photographer Mark Seliger.

We still don’t understand why the department store chose this lineup but here are two of the pics featuring The Donald and Xtina.

We feel great when we give back!

But it feels even better when we trade goodwill for fashion items.

Admit it, it does!

Here’s how you can contribute to important causes worldwide.
