Reports this evening indicate that Jennifer Hudson’s mother was gunned down in her Chicago home earlier today.

However, police have not yet confirmed that the well-decked-out plus size Hudson’s mother was indeed killed.

Reuters reports on the tragic death of the Sex and The City castmember’s mother.

CHICAGO (Reuters) – The mother of Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Hudson was found shot to death in her Chicago home on Friday, media reported.

The entertainment website TMZ said Hudson’s brother Jason also was found dead, citing a neighbor. A cousin who lived nearby discovered the bodies, TMZ said.

The Chicago Tribune, quoting police, said the killings may be linked to a domestic disturbance.

Police could not confirm the reports that Hudson’s mother, Darnell Donnerson, and brother had been killed.

Hudson won an Academy Award for her role in “Dream Girls.”

The Associated Press reports:

Yves Saint Laurent, the designer who reworked the rules of fashion by putting women into elegant pantsuits that came to define how modern women dressed, died Sunday. He was 71.

Longtime friend and associate Pierre Berge said Saint Laurent died at his Paris home after a long illness.

A towering figure of 20th-century fashion, Saint Laurent was widely considered the last of a generation that included Christian Dior and Coco Chanel and made Paris the fashion capital of the world, with the Rive Gauche, or Left Bank, as its elegant headquarters.

In the fast-changing world of haute couture, Saint Laurent was hailed as the most influential and enduring designer of his time. From the first YSL tuxedo and his trim pantsuits to see-through blouses, safari jackets and glamorous gowns, Saint Laurent created instant classics that remain stylish decades later.
